Have you checked out DT girl Tanya (aka crazeergirl's) journaling challenge for this month! Yep, you guessed it...journling strips. I know, you were begining to wonder! Here is the challenge!
This month, I am challenging you to do some journaling with strips:
But this is about more than just journaling strips. You have to do something to your strips to make them more fun! As a matter of fact, YOU HAVE TO DO (at least) THREE DIFFERENT THINGS TO YOUR STRIPS FOR THIS CHALLENGE!
Here are some ideas (don't feel you are limited to these, come up with your own ideas if you like):
mat them on another paper
add some bling
add some flowers...
underline some of the words
background stamp them
spray them with mist
hand sew on them
let somebody else write them
machine sew them...
Got the idea?
Here is Tanya's journaling strips:
I tilted them, matted them, cut one side of them with pinking shears, added some bling and I used two different patterned papers for them!
What can you do with yours? Don't be shy!
Layouts for this challenge need to be newly created between October 1st and the last day of the month.
The projects must be linked to this thread by midnight PST on the last day of the month to be entered in the RAK drawing.
The winner will be drawn shortly after the end of the month. You get one entry to the RAK per layout uploaded.
We'd also love to see your layout in the gallery too, but it is not required.
Here is what I did with the journaling strip challenge!

Decide what you want to create and pick your fabric. I stared off by picking these two, but ended up changing my fabric and my design. So, you will see some changes in my pictures as we go. I cut my design with my Silhouette, but you can use anything you want to create your design, you can even free hand it!
Trace your design on the back of your fabric. Remember you need a front and a back. Then cut them out.
Sew your pieces together. I liked doing it so the stitching was showing. It made my tree a little more unique looking. Make sure you leave an openig so that you can stuff your design.
Then I stuffed my tree and trunk and stitched the openings up. I also decorated my tree and quilted around some of the flowers.
Here is the layout I used my tree on.
So, are you participating in this? Check it out here!
I can't wait to see what you girls do!

I am pretty much srapbooking-crazee, and I have layouts all over the walls of my office. So many people ask me "where do you get all of your ideas?" The answer is simple: CHALLENGES!
This layout about my daughter and her 2nd grade teacher would not exist if it hadn't been for Michelle's color challenge. You can find her chalenge here:
All of the chatter that we have been doing about our die-cut machines is really inspiring me too! I cut the tree with my Cricut using the Cindy Loo cartridge.
So come on over and try a challenge...or 3, or 5!

Have a Harvest of fun with Traci while creating this adorable mini album. The new “Apple Cider” line by Imaginisce just makes you think about the leaves turning while you take a walk on a cool fall day. I couldn't resist using this really cute pumpkin shaped book. The inside pages are unique as well, the fall leaf and apple makes this book truly one of a kind. The book has 6 chipboard pages (12 pages front and back) and measures 5 3/4 x 8 1/2. You won't be disappointed in the details, it's loaded with them; die cuts, felt shapes and borders, trims, and trinkets, this book has it all. Also Included in your kit are the chipboard stickers from the “Apple Cider” line. Traci will be showing you how to use some different mediums with a burlap covered pumpkin and the Tim Holtz clear crackle paint covering a tree. It's the perfect accent to your fall decorating. Whether your pictures are from a trip to the pumpkin patch, apple picking, a fun fall day, or even Thanksgiving, this mini book is the perfect way to display them.
